Italian Hot Chocolate

The cold is setting in and I know many of you are shivering in your blankets - so it's time to bring out my recipe for the best and thickest hot chocolate you have ever tasted! It's a pretty straightforward recipe, although you need to put in some work - but trust me, it's gonna be worth it. This is LOADS better than just powder and water.

This recipe yields 2 servings.

Ingredients:

• Finely chopped dark chocolate • 1 1/2 cups milk
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp cocoa powder
• 1 tbsp cornstarch

Method:

  1. In a bowl, combine a bit of milk with the cornstarch and set it aside.
  2. Add the chocolate and a splash of milk to a saucepan and heat it over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in the sugar and cocoa powder. Continue to whisk until all the chocolate has melted.
  4. Once the chocolate has melted, stir in the rest of the milk.
  5. Once the milk is hot, add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan.
  6. Heat the hot chocolate and stir constantly until it starts to thicken.

And we're done! Pour into a mug and serve hot with whipped cream! (It tastes good on its own as well)

I hope you all love this recipe as much as I do. Wishing you all a very, merry Christmas!
